Government discount programs can cut big dollars off your cellular plan

You may qualify for one or more government discount programs (GDP) on your smartphone, hotspot or tablet data plan including Lifeline


Due to the lack of funding from Congress, the Affordability Connectivity Program has ended, however, if you qualified for the ACP benefit, you may also qualify for the Lifeline discount.

If you are a current Total by Verizon customer who received the ACP benefit, go to and click on “My Service” in the upper right hand corner of the page to apply for Lifeline.

What is the Lifeline discount?

The national Lifeline program provides a $10 discount per month on any monthly smartphone, hotspot, or tablet plan with at least 4.5GB of data.

How do I qualify?

You may qualify for Lifeline if you, or a member of your household, are enrolled in any of the following services:
  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance,Tribal TANF (save up to $35/mo.), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

$10 per month:

on any monthly smartphone, hotspot, or tablet plan with at least 4.5GB of Data

Available in all states with Total by Verizon besides:

Alaska, California, Oregon, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming
